In what I consider an outstanding step towards patient safety, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology joined the Image Gently campaign. I was glad to read the news. Image Gently is a movement dedicated towards lessening the radiation exposure to kids. Something that every radiologist should be backing. While adults can handle some levels of radiation rather easily, children are very susceptible. I’m no expert yet, but this little bit of news I do find exciting. Radiologists taking radiation safety seriously and actually doing something about it.
